Elizabeth Macarthur PDF Print E-mail

John Macarthur, alleged founder of the Australian wool industry, was a self-centred, bull-headed man who was easily insulted and quick to take offence. He refused to be seen in the company of some people, let alone talk to them.
He fought others in duels. In his last years he was quite mad, violent and a danger to his family.

Scrub him! Let's look at his wife, without whom he's a nobody.

I have just finished your book, Elizebeth Macarthur,  It is very well written and has a lot of info.
I never knew that there was a second fleet.
The only problem with the book is that on page 4 I think the dates are wrong other than that I very much enjoyed it and hope to read more.

P.S. I had a question why wasn't John Macarthur allowed to resign from the army? If you could reply that would be great.

I really enjoyed your book entitled Elizabeth Macarthur. It was funny, entertaining, well written and informative. It was simple which made it easy to absorb the information in it. I have a few questions about it and if you don't just send me an automatic e-mail response, could you please answer them?

1.   Why Wasn't John Macarthur allowed to resign from the army?
2. How come in the 1800's the Army and the Navy had the right to kill and no one else did?
3. How did the Army/Navy kill people?

I particulary enjoyed the cartoon on page 13, it was really funny! Did you write it and Sally Bradley illustrate it?

-The king has pure bred merinos
                           I also have some questions:
-On page 7, at the bottom, there is a picture of a boat and on the boat there are stick figures. Is that how they slept?
Once agian
I thought it was a great book and would recomend it to everybody.

Hi Allan Drummond

Sorry that I haven't wrote to you yet.
I read your book called Elizabeth Macarthur, It was exciting to know about her daily life style and what she did for a living. It showed me how hard Elzabeth worked to support her husband through hard times. This has helped me to try harder in my future studies. Thankyou! bye

This book is mainly about John Macarthur. He was arrigant and selfish. He was always fighting. He was the founder of the Australian wool industry. He came from England to New South Wales. But if it wasn't for his wife Elizabeth, he wouldn't be famous. She looked after his job when he went back to England. I enjoyed reading this book very much.

Hey,
This book is pretty hard to understand and the activities are hard but it is ok.
