George Augustus Robinson

This is a book about genocide. George Augustus Robinson carried the official title of Protector of Aborigines in Van Dieman's Land and Port Phillip in the 1830's and 1840's. Some Protector! George watched as the Van Dieman's Land aborigines were killed or died out. Later he went to Port Phillip and failed to prevent a disaster there. The best that can be said of him is that he meant well. This is a sorry story.

I liked the book and I kept wanting to read it but at times you would call George different names. At one stage you used Robinson and other times you would call him George. There were many hilarious times and others were very boring. I felt you didn't give enough information about George and his life. I would recommend this to a person who enjoyed reading books about aborigines and the white settlement but it was still an interesting book that kept me interested.

George Augustus Robinson was the protestor of the aboriginies. Although he wasn't very good at it. I liked reading the book although some parts were hard to understand.
