Lachlan Macquarie was the last of the Governors of New South Wales who had the power to do almost anything he liked. In Australia he like to do two things. He liked building a city on Sydney Harbour of which everyone could be proud. He also liked rebuilding the lives of convicts who had been transported to Australia as a punishment for their crimes. He did a good job on both counts. So why did he make so many enemies?

I like this book because I never knew about Lachlan Macquarie.So I wanted to know more about his interesting life.The book taught me alot about him.The most interesting thing about him was that he was the governor of NSW.

When me and my Tony started reading your book Lachlan Macquarie he was Govener of NSW and he seemed very important..The cool part was the war.The pictures wre a bit funny but the funniest pcture was when he was aging.I think Lachlan Macquarie was a very good book!

This book was about Lachlan Macquarie when he started building an area for the convicts. It also has lots more facts on other people like the convicts and the British Government.
People should want to learn about Lachlan Macquarie and the convicts. I recommend this book mostly to younger readers as it doesn't go into too much detail. Around Year 7 and 8.

Lachlan Macquarie had a lot of very interesting information. I didn't particulary like it myself but recommend it to those who want information about Macquarie. It had a lot of information on him and some humour which was good.
