Vincent de Paul

If Vincent de Paul were still alive, he'd be more than 400 years of age. So he isn't! But as you can see from the front cover, his name lives on, all over the world. That's because he was one of the kindest men to have ever lived. But he was also as tough as old boots. You can't survive being kidnapped by pirates and spending two years in slavery without being tough.

To Allan Drummond,

I really enjoyed this book. Vincent De Paul was a really good man who is loyal to everyone and is willing to help the poor. throughout his life he had quite an adventure. through the tough times he still managed to keep him self alive. he has done many good deeds soo he should be remembered throughout his whole history .

Heeeeeeey Mr Drummmmmmmmmond!
It's alisi and bek!
We're sitting here in RE writing you a message about St Vincent De Paul.
Bek: St Vincent De Paul was cool, if he was alive now, he would live in a castle.
Alisi: But he wouldn't be alive now, if he was, i'd be sortof worried. Like night of the living dead or something
Bek: mmm... {scratches chin thoughtfully} Yes, St Vincent De Paul was a kind man. I've never met him, but from what i've heard he's really nice.
Alisi: Definitely.
Bek: Mr Drummond can you buy me a purple monkey?
Alisi: I don't think that's really something we should include in this.
BEk: It doesn't matter coz i want a purple monkey! And i will get one. {Gives evil eye} HEY! Maybe i could get one from St Vinnies!
Alisi: What a good idea! Ok Mr D, we have to go now and get bek a purple monkey.
Bek: BYEEEE!

PS St Vincent De Paul is cool.

Dear Allan Drummond,

I really like the book about St Vincent De Paul. The way Vincent helped other people and cared for the poor was very inspirational. It's really great that the St Vincent De Paul Society still helps people today.

To Allan Drummond

The book I have read is St Vincent de Paul, I think this book was quite interesting and it convinced me to give clothes to the poor and homeless. Every year the St Vincent De Paul comes to our school and gives a talk about what they do and what we could do to help.

The wonderful life of St Vincent De Paul is a long and holy story, training as a priest, making the Gondi family religious and creating the aeroplane nuns.

I enjoyed the book immenseley, and i am very glad that i am involved in the greenbarrow program.

Vincent was a great man. He did many great things and I think this book names them all. He should have been given a medal for what he did. This book was great fun, I couldn't stop reading. It told of the highs and lows of his life. He was caught by pirates and became a slave, but the whole way he was strong. He also created a charity for the poor people of the world and, many years later, it was renamed the Vincent de Paul Society. I think he was a man truly dedicated to God.

 Hayden Savio

After reading the book I feel more enthusiastic about charity and the poor. The book mostly talks about Vincent's life and what encouraged him to work as a priest and in charity. My opinion is that the book is very informative and I enjoyed it, I recommend it to any one who wants to know more about charity and how it started.
