He was a great hero who saved many lives with his skills as a surgeon. He was a kind and caring person as the book said. Even if he was in a war he still never gave up hope and helped the other prisoners.

Weary Dunlop was a great man; he did many things for those in that war. He saved many lives, and people today still thank him. He was a very kind person. I wish we had more people in the world like him. Because if we did, their wouldn t be as much fighting. He did many great things for Australia and the war, he made the prison camps a bit more liveable then they would have been, and helped the injured. He came from Australia and went to the war after med school. He fought with the Japanese but also helped them. He was a very kind Australian and they were right to give him a medal.
I enjoyed this book it was a good read and very interesting.
